Back in August, there were about 2,500 .CO domains for sale. The only way to obtain any of these domains was to register and place a bid on these domains during the Landrush stage. These auctions were “closed” to the general public – until now. Of the 2,5000 .CO landrush domains, 156 did NOT have a bid placed them. According to the cointernet site, this means that these domains will become available to the general public in the first quarter of 2011 through Pool.com.
This is definitely something that I am looking forward to and will publish a list of .co domains as soon as one is made available. I think that investing in a short keyword, easy to remember .co domain will be a great investment. Plus, I am also anxious to see how the .co will hold up against the king – .com. Only time will tell and the only thing “experts” can do is speculate. No one knows the outcome of .co or how valuable this extension will become.
On a side note, here are some of the highest selling .co domains that SOLD during the landrush auctions.
