tv domain

I believe that every domain portfolio should be well diverse but should contain only a handful of extensions. It is very important to pick some extensions and stick with them. Everyone should focus on .com along with a few others. Personally, I have only about 120 domains and they are broken down into .CO, .COM, and .TV.

Just about everyone in the world knows “tv” – they might not know the domain extension, but they sure do know that tv stands for television. I have been buying and selling TV domains for only about a year, but have picked up a handful of decent TV domains that have been getting consistent traffic while parked on sedo. NamePros has a section dedicated to TV domains which has become a very useful tool for not only researching this extension but also buying TV domains. I have about 30 domains and 80% have been purchased from namepros. The others have been purchased from end users or hand registered. There are many gems that can be found on namepros – im not talking about goldmines, but it is extremely easy for someone to find a domain auction, win a CHEAP domain and immediately flip it – if it doesnt suit you. I have flipped a very low $xx purchase into a mid $xxx purchase in about 2 weeks.

I feel that 2011 will be a good year for .TV domains and will lead to some $xx,xxx sales – especially if you have a domain that flows extremely well with a TV extension – for example, ANY movie genre – horror, drama, comedy – and domains with the word “show” – for example, I recently sold BridalShow[.]tv after owning it for about a month.

I have a few TV Domains that are developed, or in the process of being developed. Some of my developed TV Domains are:

  • Built – which features workout and fitness videos
  • Vegas Show – still needs to be updated
  • Catfights – Just added this domain – am working on developing it.

One thing in common is that ALL these domains have videos – which is something every developed TV domain needs! I am using free wordpress themes on all of theses and have automatic videos added. I am also noticing that most of these TV sites get type in traffic and are indexed in google.

The domains that are not developed are either parked at SmartName or Sedo. Over the past few months, traffic to my parked TV domains has increased noticeably.

The TV domains that are getting the most traffic are the ones I hang registered for $10 at name. To date, all of these domains have already paid for themselves and some have been making a few bucks each month – but they are getting traffic which is always a plus! and a good way to possibly start a sale. Here are my best performing TV domains:

So if you are looking to start investing in a new domain extension, I suggest you start adding some TV domains to your portfolio.

Three letter domains have always been popular – especially with .com domains. On average LLL.COM domains sell anywhere from high hundreds to thousands of dollars. With all the CO Domain buzz lately, it only makes sense that most LLL.CO domains are registered.

Personally I think that LLL CO domains can become wanted and have the potential to generate a decent amount of income. They are shorter that COM domains and CO is being heavily marketed as opposed to other LLL domains in other extensions.

If you check forums, godaddy, or sedo – you will notice MANY CO domains for sale and there are quite a few LLL.CO domains thrown in the mix. What you will also notice is the price. MANY people are asking A LOT of money for their LLL CO domain however most dont sell due to the asking price. To date, there have not been any high priced LLL.CO domain sales, but that does not mean anything. CO domains have been around for less than a year and have already generated a tremendous buzz.

I have been buying about 1-2 LLL.CO domains a week for these reasons.

Just about every LLL.CO is already registered – some will start selling soon and they have a great chance of selling for a good price. If someone cant afford spending $2,000 on a LLL.COM then I am sure they can pick up a LLL.CO for half of that.
Even if you register a LLL.CO domain and keep it for X amount of years, you will still have a great chance of selling your domain for more than the cost of registration.
LLL.CO domains are the shortest possible extension – and everyone likes shortcuts.

As mentioned earlier, I buy 1-2 LLL.CO domains a week and I never spend more than $30 – which is the registration fee at most places. If you want to add some short LLL.CO domains into your portfolio, then I suggest you start doing your homework – or read the next paragraph.

Forget godaddy, sedo or forums – these places are filled with flippers that want an immediate return on their investment. Just about everyone in these places asks a ridiculous amount of money or have a very high reserve. Use EBAY Yes – ebay has been a great place for finding LLL.CO domains. I recently purchased 3 domains for about $15 a piece. Some might say thats a waste – but I can care less since people make money by STARTING trends – not following them. The second place to find LLL.CO domains is on Cax Cax.com costs $10 to buy/sell domains but it is a great worthwhile investment. All you need to simply do is apply a filter. First Set the extension to CO. Then set the reserve to: NO RESERVE. Apply the filter and you will see every single CO domain listed for sale without a reserve. This means that you can send any domain to auction for $20. Personally, I think that spending $20 on a LLL CO domain is DEF worth it – and might even sell for $200 or $2,000 in the near future.

I just recently bought a LLL.CO domain and am bidding on another GREAT keyword co domain – all for $20. Feel free to post any LLL.CO domains that you own icon smile Buy Cheap LLL CO Domains or let us know what methods you use to buy CO domains

The vintage toy & collectible market is now hotter than ever. It is a multi-million dollar aftermarket industry that does not seem to be slowing down. Hundreds of different toys, such as Hot Wheels Redlines, GI Joe figures, and train sets were played by children over 40 years ago. Today all of these children are now grown up and want to rekindle their youth. Sadly most toys, especially toys for boys, were brutally destroyed and will never see the light of day. However for those who meticulously kept their toys in mint condition can sell their toys today for a hefty premium price.

One particular individual is one of the biggest players in the vintage toys and collectibles market. Each week I am blown away by the variety and amount of items he sells. If you are a vintage toy collector, you already know EXACTLY who I am referring to: Joel aka FxToys!. Here are FXToys! Auctions

Every single week, FxToys has hundreds of different collectible items. Two things always blow my mind. 1 – The variety and condition of these highly collectible, rare sought after toys. 2 – The prices. Yes – The prices. Joel has items that I have never seen before – He has redline colors that I only dreamed of. If there is something rare and unique you are seeking, Joel is the man to contact.

I collect redlines – Mighty Mavericks to be precise and I have purchased a handful of mavericks from Joel. Even with hundreds of items ending each week, Joel still manages to find time to answer any question he gets – with an extremely fast response time. Once I sent a question at Midnight and already had an answer the next morning. He also has a return policy!

I had the priviledge of talking to Joel on the phone and he agreed to an interview. He is a great guy and I thank him for taking time out of his busy day to talk to me. PS – While we were talking, he was sorting through an awesome redline collection he just purchased! My questions are in bold and the replies are in italics.

What is your name and ebay id?
Joel Magee – ebay ID: fxtoys!
Do you have a website? No, I only sell through ebay

How did you ever get started in this hobby? I started back in the late 80′s and started buying lunchboxes from TV shows that I watched as a child. I started collecting and then quickly realized that it could be turned into a business.

What types of items do you sell? Which items sell best? I sell anything toy related from 1960′s and older. Hot wheels redlines and television show toys sell the best.

What is the most an item you owned sold for? In the late 1980s, I sold a vintage 1950′s tin rocket for $14,000.

Do you think there are treasure still yet to be found? Absolutely! Everything is just waiting to be found

What is your outlook for 2011? Do you think collectibles will become rarer and bring in more money? The market will shift up and down during the year but overall 2011 should be a solid year

Do you have a personal collection? What is your holy grail? I collect disneyland posters from the park. They are made exclusively for disneyland and not sold to the general public. They are about 5 feet tall by 3 feet wide. My holy grail is my flying saucers poster. It is worth well over $10,000.

How many items do you sell a week? 500

Where in the world do you find all these items? You have the cream of the crop when it comes to collectibles We have many contacts all over the country. Many people contact us through ebay. We also buy many collections and also do consigments once in a while. People will send us their collections to sell without us even paying upfront because of the well known repuation we have with our customers.

Just about every collector knows FxToys! especially when it comes to rare hard to find items. You are talked about in many forums and have handled more collectibles than people will in their lifetime. How does it feel to be a collectible guru? Are you a member on any specific forums? That is an honor. We have strived to be the very best at what we have been doing for the past 20 years and I feel like our reputation brings people back because they trust us and we always strive for 100% customer satisfaction.

Is there anything you regret not purchasing in the past? Boy – this happens all the time. It never ends.

What is the funniest strangest question someone has asked you? Probably the stupiest question, that happens all the time, is when someone asks me how big or long an item is when it is written in the title and description!

That is the interview and I hope you all enjoyed reading it. Joel is a great guy and has amazing items for sale. He has stuff I will NEVER see in my lifetime. So check out his auctions – FxToys! and if there is something unique he has for sale – make sure to snag it! Joel also pays finders fees to people who help him find collections!

Jan 102011

I have been buying and selling on ebay for almost 10 years now. I have over 1,250 positive feedback and have easily dealt with more than 10,000 different products totaling more than 6 figures.

It is extremely easy for anyone to sell something on ebay and there are tons of sellers – however if you are a seller, then you surely need at least 2 buyers. Let me explain – If you have an item listed for sale for say $10 and you only have 1 buyer (bidder) then your item will ONLY sell for $10. Now say you have 2 buyers your chances of selling that item for more greatly increases. Those 2 bidders might end up getting into a “bidding war” and drive up the price of your product tremendously.

So how does one start selling items successfully? Well there are dozens of factors to consider such as marketing your product on forums and building up your feedback but the most important is: finding the best day to end your auctions

I have ended auctions at just about every hour on each day and have out what days work and what don’t. I am here today to help you make the most money from your auctions.

Best days to end auctions

I have listed the best days and time to end auctions based on my personal experience. First I will start off with the things that you should NOT – actually NEVER – do. Then I will go through my personal times and days that produce the best results – aka make me the most money

  • END an auction on a holiday
  • End an auction during the morning, early afternoon or late at night. Heres why: no one is online during these hours! Think about what time you are online and use that as a judgment.
  • End auctions on these days: Saturday, Monday, Tuesday, Friday

Here is what you have been waiting for – the best days and time to end auctions. I personally have been using these methods for years

  • End auctions when EVERYONE is using the internet! Evenings – At around 8 or 9 PM – This is after everyone gets home, has dinner, and has some time to wind down and relax. Then most Americans log onto the internet which greatly increases the chances of someone remembering they wanted to buy something off ebay
  • Lunch time – everyone needs a break from their day and around noon most people do online. These are the 2 best times to end auctions
  • Best DAYS to end auctions: Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday,

Why these days?I have found that Sunday evenings are much much better than friday and saturday. Friday is the end of the workweek and millions of people go out to dinner, a movie, or spend time together with a family or friends, etc – basically they are NOT on a computer. Saturday doesnt work well either since most people are relaxing or doing something else. Sunday is the end of the week and the day most people spend online. The weekend is almost over and what better way to spend the day than being online? Wednesday is another good day because its mid week and allows people to buy something and if they need some extra cash, they can wait till the end of the week before paying you. Ebay allows a seller a minimum of 4 days to pay for an item. The last good day is Thursday based on the same reasons as Wednesday.

Promote your items!

Now that you know the best days and time to sell – it is time to promote your auctions! There are tons of ways to promote but personally I use forums to boost any potential profit. I sell many collectibles such as toys and am an active member in many online forums. Make sure to find a forum that has a buy/sell section and utilize it!

What do you think of these tips? What tips/methods do you use to sell and make the most money?

make money with collectibles

Ever since I was a young kid, I always wanted to find new ways to make money. I used to collect baseball cards, video games, and hot wheels – then I would buy a beckett or a price guide and see what each item was worth and how much I could sell them for.

Well, not much has changed since then – I am still looking for better ways to make money and how to find the next “rare” item.

For many years, I have bought books, read websites, joined forums and more in order to teach myself how to find a potential rare collectible – well that has ALL changed. Now in addition to reading things online – I am WATCHING TV and learning about MANY great items that I would have NEVER KNOWN ABOUT!

Watching TV is not only relaxing but is also extremely educational. Watching TV also provides you with visual items so the image will retain in your memory better.

Today there are SO MANY collecting shows that it is just about impossible to miss them when watching TV. Some are good and others are a waste of time. I am going to list my favorite shows to watch that have taught me something new about rare collectibles. I strongly suggest watching these shows if you want to learn.

This is a no brainer. Pawn Stars is one of the best collectible shows. The owners get to see MANY great unique items that most of us will never see in our lifetime. It is also a great way for people to learn the value of collectibles. The thing that annoys me the most are the customers – I never understood why someone would sell something for half of what is it worth? Yes, I know people like cash right away – but if I have a collectible that is worth $1,000 I will NOT take $500 for it. PS – If you have collectibles you can’t sell EMAIL ME! haha

The only reason this show comes second is because it aired after Pawn Stars. If you are a true collector who likes to find gold then this show is for you. These 2 pickers travel across the US in hopes of finding rusty gold. Every single episode has something new and no 2 things are ever alike. Evertime I watch American Pickers, I learn something new and write down the item that they found – just in case I ever come across this item on ebay or at an estate sale.

Storage Wars is based on a concept that I have yet never done. It is about a few people who travel mostly around California buying storage lockers. The tricky part about this business is that they NEVER know what each storage locker contains. They can only use flashlights in order to guess what’s inside each locker. Another interesting fact is that these lockers were owned by people who defaulted on their storage payments. So remember to pay your storage fees or your contents will become someone elses. I like watching this show because each locker is different and the results vary each show. Not every locker is profitable – it is a CHANCE. The hosts talk about their best finds (which has been amazing) and each episode there is at least one person who easily makes a few thousand in profit!

This is the newest show that I just started to watch. Auction Kings is a show about different people bringing in items to sell at auction. Picture a real life ebay sale – that is what an estate sale is. I have attended estate sales and this is exactly how it is – minus the cameras. Each episode has someone bringing in a rare item and it is sold to the highest bidder.

So there you go – those are the BEST Collectible TV shows to watch. I have personally learned many new things from each show and even found a toy car that was on American Pickers at a recent estate sale.
If you want to make money, you will with the right research.
