One of the hardest things about a blog is getting returning visitors and having a low bounce rate. Master these 2 concepts and you will have a good successful blog. Success does not hold the same meaning for 2 people. It is unique and each person has his own interpretation of it. Some people relate success with money – and others relate success with getting comments. To each his own.
Personally, I like to focus on returning visitors and bounce rate. I always enjoy getting new comments and fresh visitors but the chances of them returning are slim – unless you have something they want to read. This is the hardest concept to master since everyone and their mother has a blog.
So, how do you do it? How do you get people to keep coming back and asking for more? Well there is no concrete answer but I know some things that are working for me.
ZOOP is a project I took on to see how well a .CO domain can do. I try to post daily and always ask myself “What do people want to read?” I focus this blog mainly on .CO domains, making money with products, and every once in a while I will post about celebs. Overall it has been working – pretty well. No one really wants to read things that are posted all over the internet – if they want the news most people will go to google, yahoo, cnn, etc – People want unique content.
As I am writing this, I have almost 100 posts and I can honestly say that there are 2 posts that have had more views than just about all my other posts combined – So what are they?
The post with the MOST views is an article I wrote about Sara Underwood GO figure – I write a post about a celeb and add pics and it becomes my #1 most viewed post! Keep an eye out on my Celeb section since it will have much more great content!
The second best article is about the latest Super Mario All Stars Wii being sold out. I always try to write about the latest items that I feel will sell out – and so far I have been right with just about every single item. A few weeks before this item sold out I said it would be a hot item – and bam I was right. The game cost $30 and now is selling for almost $100. To sum it up – if you want traffic and people to return back to your blog, you need something to lure them in. I am doing it with celebs and ways to make money – What about you?
